Idiots in the Pulpit: Jesse Peterson

When women were given the right to vote, this country headed downhill.
I imagine Rod Meredith is shouting YES to this right now!

Big Dude Breaks Ground With Second-Rate Shovel

Dave Pack broke ground on a ROAD this week for his new cult HQ project.  Since Dave thinks he channels HWA in all aspects, I wonder why he missed the mark and broke ground with a silver shovel?  Is this a subtle reminder that Packs's cult HQ is second rate to HWA's?  Everyone in the COG knows that real apostles break ground with GOLD plated shovels.

Dave still has not been granted funding by a bank for his new project.  However, he now claims that his membership has given all the money he needs.

It's funny seeing them in the middle of a field trying to look important with their hard hats on.  As if anything dangerous is going to hit them, other than maybe some bird crap.

Headquarters staff, volunteers, ministers, wives and children gathered on Thursday, May 10, for the official onsite groundbreaking ceremony commencing construction of its new World Headquarters Complex in Wadsworth, Ohio. The ceremony took place where the cornerstone of the 40,000 square foot Hall of Administration will be laid.

Mr. David Pack turned the first shovel of earth and gave the signal for construction to begin on the temporary road that will lead to the construction site. Permits for this phase of the project were granted by the City of Wadsworth, and enable Medina County to now issue the final shell permits to begin excavation.
The Restored Church of God Staff Attends Groundbreaking Ceremony

Transformed by the 'spirit' in UCG. REALLY?????

United Church of God has a report up about it's recent conference.  Just typical "we are family" and "we all need to get along" stuff.  However, one "keynote speaker" was Ray Wright.

Later in the day there was another keynote address from Ray Wright, pastor of the Dallas, Texas, congregation. He spoke on being “Transformed by the Spirit of God,” showing that God expects a total transformation in us when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We become “a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

I am appalled that this man is still being allowed to minister in a Church of God congregation considering his horrible background in Worldwide.  He was kicked out of Worldwide for embezzling money, not once, but TWICE!  He would be sent into exile and then a couple years later he would be back and some moron would allow him access to church money again.  He has been sued multiple times, and may have even spent time in jail, can't remember on that part. At one point in time he and his family were living in Texas over the top of one of his fake businesses that got him into trouble. Several WCG ministers were jailed for money scams involving cars and investments in the late 80's/early 90's.

He and his wife used to cause a stink every Saturday in Pasadena when they would show up for church fashionably late in the middle of the sermonette and saunter in their expensive clothes down the aisle to a front row seat that they EXPECTED to be waiting for them.  They soon became the laughing stock of the church.

But never fear, Wright is the authority on being "transformed by the spirit." He's a "new creation."  This man should NOT be ministering to any congregation, anywhere!

Official Spokesman of the Living Church of God Publishes New Book

Bob Thiel, the Official Spokesperson of the Living Church of God on prophecy and doctrine, has just published another book.  This will most likely join a long line of screeds against the Catholic church that no one ever reads.  His biggest audience will be COGers and anti-Catholic evangelicals who think he knows what he is talking about.

The prophet writes:

For those unfamiliar with Fatima, Fatima was the name of Muhammad’s favorite daughter.  Muslims often name their daughters Fatima (similar to Catholics naming their daughters Mary).  A small town in Portugal was renamed Fatima after a Muslim princess named Fatima converted to Roman Catholicism.  In 1917, three children claimed to have a series of monthly visits from an apparition who finally identified herself with the rosary.  The apparition is known as “Our Lady of Fatima” or “the Virgin of Fatima” (she never referred to herself as Mary).  Hollywood did a movie about this decades ago called The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima (which I have seen).

The apparition, which many in the Catholic world believe was Jesus’ mother Mary, gave various “secrets,” several of which were not written down until after they had apparently been fulfilled.  Many believe that Fatima holds the key to the future and that the forces of evil can be stopped if various portions of the messages of Fatima are heeded.

------

Although most non-Catholics do not think that Fatima can affect them, if they live long enough this century, they will find that this is not the case.  Fatima is a much bigger deal than people realize and seems to tie into a variety of prophecies throughout the Bible (e.g. Isaiah 47, Matthew 24, 2 Thessalonians 2, Revelation 17).

The truth about Fatima, the messages of Fatima, the “secrets” of Fatima, the Vatican’s views of Fatima, and how Fatima is expected to impact the future are all covered in detail in Fatima Shock!

Fatima Shock! also, and mainly from Catholic writings, exposes where the “rosary” came from, where many “dogmas of Mary” came from, and explains how Satan has used apparitions in the past to interfere with the Church of God and to promote non-biblical “Christianity.”  Fatima Shock! also explains what appears to be Satan’s plans for apparitions in the future based upon biblical and other prophecies.

Dennis On "Is He Coming Again or is He Not?"

"Is He Coming Again or is He Not?"

Dennis Diehl - EzineArticles Expert AuthorIf the Second Coming of Jesus was imminent and soon, over 2000 years ago, can it still be imminent and soon in our time?  I spent 30 years of my life believing this contradiction to be true.  I taught it was true.  I hoped it was true. However, it was and is not true.

To the point.  Every scripture in the New Testament about the immediate return of Jesus was written to and for those people 2000 years ago. Not one scripture , comment, encouragement and declaration about the return of Jesus to make the world all right again was meant for the future.  It was not meant for us.  In fact, while meant for those who lived in and around the time of Jesus life and death, it turned out not to be true for them either.

We today read an awfully lot into the Bible texts about the Second Coming of Jesus. I did it sincerely for decades.  There is this magical feeling that whenever the scripture says "to you it is given," or "you will see..."  or "we shall be changed.." it is talking to us today or even to me specifically.  Of course, it is not. It was spoken to "them" and not us.  We can make it all dualistic or type and fulfillment all we want, but in fact, no scripture on this topic is speaking to me or you in this day.

When Jesus is made to say in Matthew 23:34  "Behold I say unto YOU, THIS GENERATION shall not pass until all these things be fulfilled," he meant it.  He didn't mean this generation who sees all the signs for every generation has any number of same things going on to "see" as the sign of his coming.  Jesus was talking to THEM and to THEIR generation.  Frankly, it was a failed piece of non-truth for them as well.

Matthew 24 was never meant for us today and it was all about the experience they were having 2000 years ago under the Roman boot in Judea.

Matthew 26:64

64 You have said so,” Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: From now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.

The YOU was them, not us.

Matthew 10:23

23" When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes."

The YOU was them, not us.

Revelation 1:3

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

"Time is near," or as Revelation 1:1 notes, "to show unto his servants the things that must shortly come to pass," was for them , not us.  It was their "shortly," not ours.

Revelation 1:7

Look, he is coming with the clouds,”[a]
and every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him;

and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”[b]
So shall it be! Amen."

This plainly tells the audience of that time that EVEN THOSE or that Roman soldier who pierced Jesus would live to see him return.  And no, not in the future resurrection, but soon.

 Revelation 22:6
These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.

Revelation nicely wraps up and reiterates that it was soon for them, not us.  Just as we tend to take the word "you" in the Bible as meaning us today, so "his servants" are now long dead ones and not those who today define themselves as still "his servants."

Revelation 22:7, 12 and 20 remind the reader of that time and that generation, "behold I come quickly..."   It meant to the author what he meant it to mean...soon.

Whoever, and it was not Paul, wrote Hebrews 1:1-2 told that audience that in those last days then, God is now speaking to them through his son and not by the ancient prophets.  "These last days" meant exactly what the author meant it to mean for them, not us.

1 John 2:18 goes even further to clarify that it is not just the last days, but they then were in 'the last hour."  Their last hour, not ours.

18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.

1 Corinthians 10:11

11 "These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.

All the warnings derived from the past history of Israel were written for them to warn them upon whom the end of the age (not world) had come.  Paul never for a moment, until he had no choice, believed it was not him and them.  If we simply think Paul just didn't know it was a much bigger "YOU" or "US", then at least we have to admit that Paul mislead many, lied and didn't know what he was talking about.  Telling people then that they should be encouraged that soon means at least 2000 more years is not encouraging and no one would bother with such a teaching.

1 Peter 4:7

The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.

Read it at face value.  The end was near for them, not us.

I Cor 7:29
Brethren, the time is short...

1 Corinthians 7:25-28

25" Now about virgins: I have no command from the Lord, but I give a judgment as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy. 26 Because of the present crisis, I think that it is good for a man to remain as he is. 27 Are you pledged to a woman? Do not seek to be released. Are you free from such a commitment? Do not look for a wife. 28 But if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this."

Paul was sure of the shortness of time that he made up rules for "time is short," behaviors .  He didn't forbid marriage, but he did discourage it. How sad that some ministers today do the same thing thinking "YOU" means "THEM."  How many relationships did the Apostle Paul screw up being wrong about his vision of soon?

The author of 2 Peter 3:3-10 was beginning to suspect the game was running into overtime, people were dropping out and scoffers were getting antsy and vocal over all these promises of "soon."  We all know that feeling don't we...  So, like a Ron Weinland, who must realize it is simply not going to happen in their lifetime, the author of 2 Peter spiritualizes what was literally true to date and says "well...you gotta understand, a day with the Lord is as 1000 years..."  In other words, time is spiiiiiiiiritual and "you people," have misunderstood.

1 Timothy 6:13-14

13 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you 14 to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ...

Paul was telling Timothy to hang in there until Jesus came back soon in his time.  He was not telling him to hang in there, die and see you Tim in the resurrection.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52

51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed — 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

"We" means them, not us.  The dead spoken of were those believers who had died in the past few years not having received the promise, but not so late in the game that Paul had not given up on it meaning HIM and those that still were alive THEN.  Paul went on in I Thessalonians 4 to address the disappointment and sorrow THEY for those dying before this all took place.  It started to inject doubt, scoffing and loss of hope for THEM, not us.  When Paul said..."we who are alive and remain..." he meant himself and them, not us.

2 Thessalonians was written to reinject hope even more with time grinding on and still no "soon" occurring.  The hope of soon has faded and not it is a matter of faith that no matter what, THEY win and the bad people who bother THEM will get the axe from Jesus.

James 5:7-9

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. 9 Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!

James suspects time is not all that short after all. People have grumbling and discouraged. Waiting is now more important than ever since the Judge is "standing at the door."   But he was standing at their door, not ours.  Now the Second Coming is like planting a crop and waiting for the good harvest. In other words...."Ok, we understand that we may be wrong about this soon and shortly business."

Hebrews 10:37

37 For, In just a little while,

he who is coming will come

and will not delay.

The sense of delay is now palpable in the church. Short has now become ,  "in just a little while,"  and "yes we understand it feels like it is delayed, but hang in there."  (When things don't happen for Ron Weinland, he uses a form of the disappointment of delay by saying God is being ever so much more merciful than WE (read he) thought and WE (read I) have ever so much more time to do the work.)

Finally, time overtakes shortly and later overtakes sooner.  The Apostle Paul gives it up and admits that he simply fought the good fight, kept the faith and will get his crown someday as will those that followed him. Time ran out and every one of those that used to be the WE and the US had to admit it was not so.  Apologetic took over and the We and US of the New Testament became every last person over the next 2000 years that read the Book.  We now read end time scripture meant for THEM as now meant for US today.  We are probably just as wrong and will relive this old lesson in life.
Finally, and perhaps someone slipped this one in later when it was obvious...

Matthew 24:36

36 But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father.

...well and Ron Weinland and thousands of other ministers of the Gospel and zealous believers.

I don't like seeing things as I do.  But it is more important to me to see things as they are than to teach people that which is not so.  We do live in both the best of times and the worst of times.  As a kid I always wondered why Jesus had to come back if when, after a life lived, we all just die and go to heaven?  Why all the political drama, plagues, vials, wrath, blood, vengeance, rods of iron and confusion?

Dare we say that even Jesus himself, as portrayed in the Gospels, was mistaken about himself, soon and shortly?  While we have an apologetic for "my God, my God, why have you forsaken me..", could not Jesus have finally realized he was wrong too and all that followed in the forming of the NT scriptures was designed to keep moving and keep the Church alive with the eternal carrot of the Second Coming?

Perhaps we have to discard this religious idea of a Second Coming to go inside ourselves for a personal spirituality that does not lend itself to such disappointments.  If we wait and live long enough, we won't care if Jesus came back in our lifetime anyway.  We won't be here.

That is up to each of us to figure out for ourselves I suppose...

I'd like to credit and thank Glenn L. Hill author of Christianity's Great Dilemma- Is Jesus Coming Again or Is He Not? for his own personal honesty as a former Pastor and his book clearly showing the context of the hopes and dreams that Jesus would return to those who knew him 2000 years ago and how we got to our misunderstandings of it all today.

Van Robison on "Religious Poachers"

Religious Poachers

Most all people are very familiar with the concept of animal poachers in certain areas of the world.  Few are aware that religious poachers are a common breed of people who prey upon the unsuspecting.  The church world is overrun with poachers of people who stand in pulpits.  Spiritual poachers are deceivers who take advantage of the gullible and the naive.  Pulpit poachers pretend that they represent God and they stand in pulpits speaking with a sense of "authority" as if they speak for God.  Simple minded church goers bow to pulpit poachers who prey upon their childish reasoning.

The religious "elite" have always taken advantage of the those who are easily convinced.  Those who stand in pulpits always present themselves as "ordained" by God to persuade those who sit in pews.  The persuasion of those who stand in pulpits is ALWAYS their personal opinion of what "truth" is.  Non-thinkers who sit in pews are almost always convinced that the frauds who stand before them represent God on earth.  They don't!  Religious poachers operate illegally, based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ, but all church poachers default to a man called the "apostle" Paul, as if he was God in the flesh.  Paul himself was a religious poacher, but the church world thinks Paul was God.

Someday, if and when people come to their senses, they will have to realize that Jesus Christ HAS NO SUBSTITUTES, as in the FAKE "apostle" Paul, the FAKE Herbert W. Armstrong, and all FAKE splinter groups of the WCG.

PCG Says: "There are hundreds of Laodiceans in this region... [Netherlands]"

Just when I think Armstrongites can't say any more dumb things, along comes the Philadelphia Church of God's own Ronnie Staal.  It seems PCG is on a big push in Europe with stupid newspaper advertisements.   Ronnie had this to say about former and present COG members who live in the Netherlands (and Belgium) who are not follower's of God's most perfect, righteous and Holy, Philadelphia Church of God.

Ronald Staal, a PCG minister who lives in the Netherlands, believes that the new advertising will generate a good response.  “Since the campaign in the UK proved to be very successful, we have prayed for a similar campaign over here even more,” he said. “There are hundreds of Laodiceans in this region, and many more people who are at least familiar with the name of Mr. Armstrong, or who have read the Plain Truth.”
How stupid can this man get?

The PCG is also buying ad space in a conservative and slightly religious newspaper, the Trouw.

The church has also purchased four print ads in the Trouw newspaper. Trouw, which means "faithful" in Dutch, is a conservative and slightly religious newspaper. Its ads cost a little more than those in the UK, but they appear further forward in the paper, and Trouw accepts only a relatively small number of ads.

I see a letter writing campaign to the Trouw asking why they are letting a heretical American cult advertise religious hate language in the Netherlands.  PCG has already damned most of the Netherlands with Staal's inflammatory comment.

Perhaps the government of the Netherlands can be told about the "fake" chruch addresses that it set up to gather the information and money.

To process advertising requests, the church has expanded its presence in the Netherlands. Richard Howard created a Dutch-language website: www.thetrumpet.nl. The church also set up a Dutch 0800 number and post office.

It look like France, German and Scandinavia will soon be bombarded by this heretical cult's absurdities.

The advertising initiative in the UK is set to continue on an on-going basis. To control costs and to help the office with the increased workload, print advertisements will run every other week. Dutch ads ran until May 5. Mr. Robinson says that the church plans to run similar advertising campaigns in France and Germany. Dutch, French and German advertising campaigns would then rotate, with one month of advertising and then two months off. He also said that he hopes to run Google Adwords campaigns in other European countries, including those in Scandinavia.

Dankenbring: "Hell On Earth Is About To Erupt! 2012 – The Return of Quetzalcoatl and the Wrath of Satan"

William Dankenbring, is just one in a long line of false prophets to come out of Armstrongism.  He published several books in the early 1980's that he tried to get church members to read.  Around this same time the Worldwide Church of God disfellowshipped him.  I remember  being in Jekyll Island for the Feast and seeing huge displays of his books in stores.  Of course, there was an announcement that church members were not to buy his books.  Somewhere in a box I still have two of those books I bought the day they told us not to.  They were a waste of money and totally inaccurate.  But heck, it was fun being rebellious back at that time, just like now!

False prophet Willie has written an article about the Mayan calendar and how it may all come to a completion at the end of this year.  Keep in mind one of his "go to" sources is WorldNetDaily, which is considered by many Armstrongites to be on par with Biblical teachings.

The year 2012-2013 looks to be a “humdinger” of a year
of mounting world troubles, government collapses, war and destruction on a global scale. Why? What is going on? What does Bible prophecy say about it? How do ancient Mayan prophecies and the calendar help explain the mystery and holocaust facing the nations today?

Despite not having telescopes, the Mayan people of Central America were extremely accurate observers of celestial movements, with the zenith of their civilization occurring between A.D. 250 and 900. The year 2012 has been foretold to be a very pivotal year, but not just in the Bible. According to Don Alehendro, an elder of the Mayas, December 20, 2012, mother earth will pass inside the center of a magnetic axis and a great cloud will darken it for 60-70 hours but it will pass. But when it does, he said that there will be great and serious events, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, volcanic
eruptions, and great illness on planet earth with few survivors left.

The final day of the Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012, and Mayans consider this date as the end of time and possibly the end of the world at which point human history could come to a close. The period just prior to this is called the time of trial—Judgment Day and the time of great purification. It is also a day where tumultuous
changes are expected to take place. In their concept of cycles, one is called the precession that we call the precession of the Equinox. It is a 26,000 year period through which the earth transits through each one of the twelve signs of the Zodiac.

Dankenbring also looks to Chinese and Jewish predictions:

Horn says 38 years ago, when scientists Terrence and Dennis McKenna created a
stock-market-like linear graph based on the “I-Ching,” the timeline abruptly plunged off the graph into infinity on precisely Dec. 21, 2012.

“This finding is all the more astonishing given that McKenna's research was
published in 1973 independent of any knowledge of the ending date in the Mayan
calendar,” Horn declared.

Meanwhile, the Zohar, a collection of books in the mystical Jewish Kabbalah that first debuted in Spain in the 13th century, talks about the coming of the Messiah at the same general time the other calendars forecast the end.
It predicts in late 2012, “All the kings of the world will assemble in the great city of Rome, and the Holy One will shower on them fire and hail and meteoric stones until they are all destroyed, with the exception of those who will not yet have arrived there. These will commence anew to make other wars. From that time the Mashiach (Messiah) will begin to declare himself, and round him there will be gathered many nations and many hosts from the uttermost ends of the Earth.”

Next.....he jumps into stupid conspiracy theories which seem to occupy the minds of most legalistic Armstrongites.

What's perhaps most fascinating is Horn's discussion of what could be the mother of all conspiracy theories, dating back to the Bible's Book of Genesis, involving Noah's great grandson Nimrod, who not only built the famous Tower of Babel, but is the “mighty hunter” who scholars believe became worshipped as the sun god, with names such as Osiris in Egypt and Apollo in Greece.

Horn says from deepest antiquity, a plot involving pagan sun-worshippers, America's Founding Fathers, Masons and Freemasons has apparently been in the works, culminating in the end time with the return or resurrection of an evil, supernatural being. That character may actually be pictured as the all-seeing eye on top of the uncapped pyramid on the Great Seal of the United States, found on the back of a $1 bill.

Then he hyperventilates over the Mayan calendar:

According to the Mayan calendar, we are living in the Mayan “end times.” The Great Cycle of the Mayan Long Count calendar ends at the winter solstice in 2012 A.D., just literally a few MONTHS from now!!!

Now he is quoting Archbishop Ussher and his calendar dating.  My mother gave me that junk when I went to Junior High School.  I guess it was to counteract all those evil evolutionists who claimed the earth was older than 6,000 years.

According to Archbishop Usher’s chronology, Adam and Eve were created in 4,004 B.C. Adam and Eve disobeyed God (sinned and cut themselves off from God) in the Garden of Eden exactly seven years after they were created according to the book of Jubilees which would be year 3,997 B.C.

According to ancient Biblical interpretation, God has given mankind 6,000 years to live on the earth, before the Kingdom of God will arrive – a thousand years for each of the six days of creation (see II Peter 3:8-10). Our article, “Does God Have a 6,000 Year Plan?” goes into this subject thoroughly.

If we count 6,000 years from 4004 B.C. we come to 1997 A.D If we count from 3997 B.C., the year of the transgression, then we come to 2004 A.D. But a strange prophecy in Isaiah 38 seems to indicate that God has given the world an extra “fifteen years” before His day of judgment will arrive! This is based on the 15 additional years God gave king Hezekiah to live, after notifying him he would die (Isaiah 38). See our article, “Is God Adding 15 Years Till the Coming of the Messiah?” . Counting from Creation in 4,004 B.C., the year 2012 is fifteen years from 1997. Is this then, a year of transition, beginning the transition to the end of this age and the world of tomorrow?

If the Isaiah 38 prophecy about Hezekiah’s added fifteen years refers is based on the 6,000 year period which started from the year of Adam and Eve’s transgression in 3997 B.C., then 15 years added to 2004 A.D. would bring us to 2019 A.D. – exactly seven years from now!

This would make Daniel’s seventieth week, or the final week of years of this age, to be from 2012 to 2019! This means the final Great Tribulation is scheduled to begin THIS VERY YEAR! This year is very likely the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week prophecy!

Fifteen years added to 2004 A. D. will be the year 2018-2019 depending whether we count inclusively or exclusively. If 2012 begins the 70th week of Daniel, the seventh inclusive year will be 2018 (beginning with 2012 as year 1). Counting exclusively, the first year of the count would be 2013 and the seventh year would be 2019

Then Willie jumps back to the year 2012.  According to the Maya this is the year that the serpent Quetzalcoatl  returns to earth.  In Church of God speak this is satan returning to earth.  Which is odd, considering that COGers believe satan is the god of this world and is actively at work in it.  But now he is returning to wreck havoc.  I wish they would make their minds up!

The apostle John tells us, “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him”
(Revelation 12:9). So the devil is a dragon god and a serpent. According to the Mayan prophets, the return of their dragon god, prince of the air would be in the year 2012 when the Mayan calendar ended.

When satan returns he is going to be PISSED!  Really, really PISSED!  He is sooooooooooooooo pissed he is going to use Muslims to do his dirty work. At least according to prophet Willie.  I wish these COGger prophets would get their stories straight.  One minute it is the Russians after us, then it is the Chinese, then it is the Germans, then it is the King of the South, then it is Muslims, then it is the Pope's armies.  It gets exhausting trying to save one's butt from all of this!

Revelation 12:12—“Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea for the devil is come down unto you having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman (church) which brought forth the man child (Jesus Christ).” Christ was born to the Jews of a Jewish family, Joseph and Mary. When the Devil is cast down to earth he is going to intensify persecution against Christians and Jews using the Muslim religion to foment and focus on persecution to the death.

When Satan is cast down to this earth, or when Quetzalcoatl returns, there will be “hell to pay” on the earth!

But not to worry!  You will be whisked off to the place of safety!  Get those Petra packs ready, again.....

God’s people will need special protection from the wrath of the serpent. Revelation 12:14 – “To the woman [the church] were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time (3 ½ years), from the face of the serpent.”

Notice! Those who are faithful of God’s church will be spared and taken to a place of safety in the wilderness, not in heaven as mainstream Christianity teaches. They will be protected in a wilderness area that God has prepared on the earth.

Hell on earth is about to erupt! We have been warned! God means what He says! And says exactly, precisely what He means to do!
God Himself will be full of wrath and fury because of the sin, wickedness, destructiveness and violence in the earth today.

I have always been amazed at how Armstrongites want their god to be this vengeful angry god who is just itching to wipe humanity off the face of the earth...except for about 50-60,000 true Church of God members.  They seem absolutely giddy at times at the prospect of famines, wars, and violence.  They want it to happen in order to make themselves feel special and set apart.  God would be more merciful to let people die during such famines and wars than to let them live 3 1/2 years of tyranny in Petra.  That would literally be hell on earth!

If you want to get the willies, then read Willie's article here:  2012 – Return of Quetzalcoatl, and the Wrath of Satan

Is It Wrong To Send Apostle Malm Second and Third Tithe Money?

A Malmite asks:

Is is okay to use tithes other than first tithe to your blog? For instance, I wanted to know if I can start sending my third tithe to the Shining Light blog. Please explain as I am sure others also wonder about this.

The apostate apostle responds:

The first tithe is for the preaching of the Gospel. As that is what I do, first tithe and offerings are gratefully accepted to help with this effort. That is God’s money and should not be given to those NOT preaching the true gospel that Christ commanded us to preach, just because they are incorporated in some state.

My credentials are not from some government of man but from God; You must judge for yourself if I or anyone else teaches the true doctrine of God, or not; and act acccordingly.

The third tithe is for the very poor and needy; I do not have the means to organize a poor fund at this time. If you do not want to give that to any organization at this time I suggest that you look around for others to help on a personal basis, or that you save it up for a few months.

I expect that certain things will come to a head around the Fall Feast and that there will be needy folks among those who make a decision for God. There are a number of good elders and hundreds of people who will be taking a decision when the full fruits of these things are made evident.

Things are moving quickly and will be made manifest in the coming months, those faithful folks will then coalesce together. This situation will not last too much longer. James

Apostate Malm is SICK of all the Love Talk!

Today, apostate apostle Malm is ripping into Roy Holiday for the sermon he gave last Saturday.  Malm seems incredibly ticked that the rest of the world does not believe or preach the things he expects them to.

Here are some of Roy's sins, according to the apostate apostle.

Roy never gets around to detailing how the saints are to assist Christ other than to just love others.
No definition of love is given, no requirements are listed other than being “called of God” and not giving up till the resurrection.
What definition does Malm want  "love" to entail?  Is there some hidden meaning that only "true" Armstrongites know about?  All Christians know what "love" means in the context of Christianity, I am surprised that Malm does not. Malm expects love to be wielding a cat-of-nine-tails ready to beat the living day lights out of grievous, rebellious sinners.  That is the "love" he wants to dish out.

He does not even mention the fact that we are called to repent and reject all sin and to begin keeping ALL of God’s commandments with enthusiasm; and that we must continue overcoming all commandment breaking while enduring to the end of our lives; and that salvation is by no means guaranteed to those who are called, only those who overcome sin...

Then apostate Malm resorts to one of Armstrongisms' favorite broadsides:

God is allowing this general apostasy for a reason.  God is TESTING his people!
Having lived through 45 years of the silliness of Armstrongism, that is all I ever heard.  70 some years down the pipeline and God still cannot figure out who his followers are and has to "test" them with all kinds of trials and tribulations.  Apostate Malm's god sure is a wimpy icky-poo god!

God’s blessings typified by the Daily Sacrifice are about to be withdrawn, and we are about to be spewed OUT of the body of Christ as lukewarm polluted water; into the correction of great tribulation that this man of sin will bring.

There seems to be no pleasing apostate Malm's god.  What is the use in even trying?

Brethren we are being TESTED with a great testing;  our love and fidelity for God, are being PROVEN by our God!  he needs to KNOW who he can trust to be faithful to him for all eternity; BEFORE he will grant authority to them in his kingdom!

Your crowns, the very birthright of your calling are at risk:  Will your love for your espoused Husband and his Father be proven true; or will you love some man or organization more than you love the commandments of our Great God?

Will you sell the birthright of your calling for the bowl of pottage of remaining in some social club for a few more months?  Or will you value your calling to the ways of God and fight the good fight for your salvation?

Apparently all of you COG buffoons out there that still attend in your respective COG's are a bunch of imbeciles.  When are you going to wake up and join the ONLY church preaching the law on earth today?  The apostate apostle sure seems eager to get his splinter cult off the ground and legitimized. Feast site, here they come!

An interesting part of Roy Holladay’s sermon were the translations used and references cited.  Virtually all of the Bible helps, translations, and references he used were written by unconverted men and as a result have faults of which the converted need to be aware.

Why are they even using a Bible, if unconverted men have had their hands on all Bibles?  Does not apostate Malm even know that the various church councils fought bitterly over what was going to be included?  Does he now know that many did not want certain books included, particularly Revelation?  I particularly enjoy the fact that apostate Malm is a KJV only dude, and that version was sponsored by gay King James!  Oh the irony!  On a side note, Craig White is on a campaign now to disprove that knowledge saying that it is all a conspiracy by unbelievers to further discredit the Bible.  King James was one macho dude and only macho dudes could have been inspired to compile the Bible in God's native tongue.

When you finish reading apostate Malm's screed you realize that he had nothing really of value to say about Roy's sermon.  Other than being upset over Roy's emphasis on love, talking about the Holy Spirit, and his use of non-KJV Bible, was all Malm can find.

Read it all here: Roy Holladay and the False God of Organizational Unity

Noah's Ark

I actually have heard Armstrongite ministers say this.  Others have said that God sealed up the anal openings of all the animals for their duration  on the ark.  One can only imagine the mess and stink that surround the ark after it hit dry land and the doors were opened.

Gerald Flurry A Chick Magnet?

Gerald is a chick magnet!  I guess since he is single he will soon start on the prowl for a new younger mate to be his second witness as he packs his little cult off to Petra.  Ladies, BEWARE!

Get a load of this revolting story from the blog of the Eroica Trio that performed in Six pack's mini-me auditorium:  Armstrong Auditorium, Edmond OK

I wonder if they know that Flurry breaks up families, destroys marriages, preaches doctrines that cause suicide and death?

E W King: Increase In Tornadoes Are Because of Mitt Romney

E.W. King, the delusional splinter cult leader of the Church of God Speaking to the Remnant, is boasting that all of his predictions and prophecies are coming to pass. The World in 2012! Things you need to know! Prophecy Forecast Update for April 9th 2012

The prophet goes on with one of the most absurd things I have heard come out of an Armstrongite lately (well, except for that icky-poo Jesus remark.)  Mitt Romney is causing tornadoes, earthquakes in Mexico and the coming CA earthquake!  Really?

In another prophecy update [given on March 21st 2012] I noted the following:

“ Many of you are aware that my predictions are coming true. This year I predicted that there would be a great increase in tornados. In my “Romney Theocracy” article I stated:
When this nation supports a leader that belongs to [or a faction of] the Great Harlot church, who follows a false prophet, then destruction is on the way! We have already seen judgments fall on this nation in great out pours in the year 2011. What is coming next will make these judgments look like child's play.

“Let us not forget the tornado swarm of 2011 which started on April 14th and lasted many weeks. Over 200 tornados! World record! Then the March 12th 2011 earthquake in Japan followed by the devastating title wave. Earthquakes are increasing in power and size and also occurring in new locations. Seismologists record 13,000 earthquakes each day!”

And guess what? Since Mitt Romney has taken the lead we have record breaking tornado crises across the United States! Notice that in the above two paragraphs I talk of an increase of earthquakes. Just yesterday there was the report of a 7.0 in Mexico. I believe that the next really big quake will occur in the state of California, though big quakes are coming to the whole of the US.

How incredibly STUPID can Armstrongites get?

The Malmite Christ is Not An "...icky-poo wimp"

In one days entry of apostate Malm's blog these descriptions of Jesus have been broadcast.  Only in an Armstrongite mind does anyone believe this crap.  No one in Christianity sees Jesus as these morons do:

Jesus Christ is NOT some pansy pushover...
Jesus Christ not as some icky-poo wimp to gush over, but as One, in whose presence a human being cannot live without special protection.

My Christ is a great man who threw the wicked OUT of his Father's house; who destroyed the Egyptian first born and then the army of Egypt in the sea.  He is a mighty God and Great King, a jealous husband who wants his bride to be united with him and his Father totally as one; in mind, spirit, attitude and ACTIONS; through a passionate love for God and a true zeal for his commandments.

Apostle Malm Says UCG Sermons Bring On "spiritual bellache"

The apostate apostle is continuing to hyperventilate over the two sermons given this past weekend in United Church of God services by Bill Eddington and Roy Holiday.  Malm is basically equating these two sermons as the equivalent of setting up the abomination of desolation in the church.

Malm starts right out of the gate by spitting that they use the NIV Bible as their translation of choice.  According to apostate Malm this Bible version is a new age, demonic inspired translation in league with Madam Blavatsky.

One of the notable things about these tow talks is that BOTH speakers relied on the fraudulent evangelical translations produced by the evangelical movement to justify their doctrines and positions.  They also relied on Commentaries produced by unconverted evangelicals.
He then moves on to start reaming Bill Eddington.  Apostate Malm is still jumping to the conclusion that Bill Eddington fainted after the sermon because of the sermon topic, which Eddington never wanted to preach in the first place.  Evidence of which apostate Malm has none.

Bill himself was obviously highly stressed and immediately after the sermon collapsed into a fait requiring medical attention.  Clearly he was uncomfortable with the deception by half truths, that has was asked to perform.

Malm continues on:

Declaring that much existing doctrine is wrong and needs to be corrected: this is true, however the direction they want to go is even more wrong.
declaring that Christ wants us to teach a false gospel about uniting men with one another; instead of the Gospel of warning, repentance and the internalizing of God’s mind, nature, spirit and works within ourselves, through the diligent keeping of all the commandments of God: which Jesus Christ COMMANDED us to preach.

For those with eyes to see:  the references to the mistakes of HWA and his WCG, with no mention whatsoever of how wrong the Tkach transitional teachings were and are, is a dead giveaway that they are moving to correct the teachings of the HWA WCG and  moving towards the evangelical fold.
Malm feels that all of the men currently leading UCG were Tkach lackeys for the time they remained in WCG before they jumped ship to UCG.  He also believes  that all of the men left in UCG are of the same mindset that Tkach Sr. held and want to change UCG doctrine to fit what Tkach Sr. brought.

When they announce that they must learn and correct the mistakes of HWA, and then announce that they are moving to a new beginning in Christ for UCG.  They are saying the lie that HWA was not Christ centered!

That much they have right, if that is what they actually believe. HWA was "law centered" and nothing beyond that.  Every doctrine of the church was law based instead of grace based.

Malm is upset that UCG wants unity on the church to be centered around Jesus Christ.

In fact, this message was all about love and  organizational unity and nothing was said about the way to achieve that unity!   Which is to be built on the foundation of true repentance and the diligent obeying the law of God.  Indeed he implied that grace unites us with God and the commandments are entirely minimized or ignored.
Malm cannot stand that fact that grace is unmerited and that there is nothing anyone needs to do to receive it.  According to Malm grace only comes when you have been beaten over the head with the law and are groveling on the floor for mercy.  Sack cloth and ashes are not even enough to gain God's grace if you do not keep all 613 elements of the law.

In fact grace is only applied to the repentant who commit to: sin no more.  Grace covers past sins repented of and reconciles us to God, but it does not KEEP us in unity with God.  To remain reconciled with God, we must remove and root out the sin that separates us from God.
Then Malm goes on to accuse them of this, which is actually true:

They have reset the minds of the congregations to accept this false teaching;  that it is grace and the resurrection of Christ, and his life that reconciles us to God, and keeps us reconciled.  And that we need do nothing on our own except have love for one another to remain in Christ and reconciled to the Father.

All of the above was just the lead in to picking apart Eddington's sermon.  Malm continues on:

He says that RCG/WCG were filled with mistakes in teachings and actions and they need to be changed.  Then he mentions the split with COGWA and declares that this is an opportunity to make a clean break from the past teachings of HWA and to go forward as a changed organization.

If that's true, which I really doubt, then I say hallelujah! It's about time!  But, I will not hold my breath on this.

He clearly states that the UCG now has a different spirit from the past, produced over the last 12 months in particular.

Eddington is right. Now that the legalistic pimps of the law have moved over to their new regime in COGWA, UCG obviously will have a different spirit.  The angry legalists are gone!

He quotes 2 Cor 5:17 as justifying the changes and presenting UCG as a new entity in its core attitude and goals or mission.  He implies that UCG was not in Christ in the past, and is now changed to become new in Christ.

He is very clearly saying that they were NOT in Christ in the past!  He is saying that HWA and the other organizations based on his teachings are NOT in Christ.  Of course they are making mistakes, but this man is declaring them unconverted and NOT in Christ; because they at least make a pretense of  KEEPING God’s commandments.

Therefore he is saying that the keeping of the commandments is not important and is contrary to Christ.  Which is an absolute LIE and a COMPLETE PERVERSION of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

He then says that we are on the threshold of a new organization which is based on the love of Christ!  Based on an emotional cotton candy false love without any foundation, that looks good, tastes good; and has no substance,  bringing only a spiritual  belly ache, rottenness and ultimate destruction!

Bill then says that Christ settled the relationship between God and man by forgiving sin; and that the gospel is for man to do the work of Christ by settling our relationships with each other and forgiving one another tolerating sin; totally perverting the Gospel that Christ commanded that we teach.

That last paraphrase by Malm sends him off the deep end and he starts shouting:

NO, NO, NO!  That is NOT the Gospel.  The Gospel is the message of warning and repentance and instruction to keep all the commandments of God!  The Gospel is that we are to become the children of God by internalizing his nature, mind and spirit through the diligent keeping of all the commandments of God.
According to apostate Malm the gospel message that Jesus Christ brought is this:

This scripture is also not talking about an evangelical false lovey dovey Christ either; it is talking about a Christ who is filled with zeal for his Father's temple; a Christ who will not hesitate to spew the sinner out of the temple, out of his body, and into great tribulation.

Jesus Christ is NOT some pansy pushover who will wink at every unrepentant sin and gush about how terrible it was that the devil made us do something.  NO, NO, NO!  Jesus Christ is a God of personal responsibility; and he will destroy all unrepentant compromisers and sinners in Gehenna.

Doesn't that war mongering "christ" make you want to drop your NIV translation and run to Malm's arms?   What a welcoming god Malm follows.

Apostate Malm then says  this is what he follows

My Christ is a great man who threw the wicked OUT of his Father's house; who destroyed the Egyptian first born and then the army of Egypt in the sea.  He is a mighty God and Great King, a jealous husband who wants his bride to be united with him and his Father totally as one; in mind, spirit, attitude and ACTIONS; through a passionate love for God and a true zeal for his commandments.

Armstrongism And It's Love Of Hidden Meanings

When the Worldwide Church of God sold the Pasadena property the lower campus was sold to Maranatha High School.  It is an upscale college prep school that has an excellent reputation for its classes and cost.  Yearly tuition is over $17,000.00.

When they took over the property it was in a sad state of disrepair.  Maranatha dumped millions of dollars into gutting and rebuilding Grove Terrace from the inside out into a state of the art classroom building.  The track was resurfaced and extended into a regulation football field and stadium lights installed.  Major repairs were done to the Student Center also.

They take great pride in the property and have a waiting list for students to attend it.

They take the name Maranatha from the Bible.

Maranatha (either מרנא תא: maranâ' thâ' or מרן אתא: maran 'athâ' ) is an Aramaic word occurring twice in the New Testament (see Aramaic of Jesus) and also in the Didache which is part of the Apostolic Fathers' collection. It is transliterated into Greek letters rather than translated, and is found at the end of Paul's First Epistle to the Corinthians (1 Cor 16:22) . The NRSV translates it as: "Our Lord, come!" but notes that it could also be translated as: "Our Lord has come"; the NIV translates: "Come, O Lord"; the NAB notes:
"As understood here ("O Lord, come!"), it is a prayer for the early return of Christ. If the Aramaic words are divided differently (Maran atha, "Our Lord has come"), it becomes a credal declaration. The former interpretation is supported by what appears to be a Greek equivalent of this acclamation in Book of Revelation 22:20 "Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!""
The phrase may have been used as a greeting between Early Christians,[1] and it is possibly in this way that it was used by the Apostle Paul.
This is all good if you are a strong believer in scripture.  It is a name that serves them well at the school.

Then, Armstrongism enters the picture.  This was sent to me by a person tonight.  They said it was on Facebook.  Everything in Armstrongism has to be a conspiracy or have some hidden meaning behind it.

What's in a name?

After AC closed, the campus was purchased by a local high school, Maranatha High School. Interestingly, this word appears in the Bible a grand total of only ONE time. Here: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+cor+16%3A22&version=KJV

In fact, both words "Anathema" and "Maranatha" appear only once in all of scripture, here in this same verse. I looked up their root meanings and found something interesting.

"Maranatha" means "Our Lord comes, or will come".
"Anathema" means "a person or thing doomed to destruction", "a curse", or "a man accursed, devoted to the direst of woes".

Isn't it ironic that Ambassador College is now linked to a high school's name that Paul described as being cursed? Did the church (and by extension--the college) lose its love for our Messiah? Did the closing of the college and the subsequent splintering of the WWCG occur as a result of this warning?

This can't possibly be just a mere coincidence.

This is what Wikipedia has to say about Maranatha and anathema:

The original Greek meaning of "anathema", a gift or sacrifice to God, leads to the interpretation that "Anathema Maranatha" in a New Testament context could mean "a gift to God at the coming of our Lord." John Wesley in his Notes on the Bible comments that, "It seems to have been customary with the Jews of that age, when they had pronounced any man an Anathema, to add the Syriac expression, Maran - atha, that is, "The Lord cometh;" namely, to execute vengeance upon him." The Catholic Encyclopedia states, "Anathema signifies also to be overwhelmed with maledictions... At an early date the Church adopted the word anathema to signify the exclusion of a sinner from the society of the faithful; but the anathema was pronounced chiefly against heretics." The negative understanding of maranatha began to die out by the late 19th Century; Jamiesen, Fausset and Brown's commentary of 1871 separates Maranatha from anathema in the same way as modern scholars. However the traditional interpretation is still occasionally found among some Christians today.

It is quit obvious that this person does not have any idea what he is talking about.  Plus, it is quit obvious that this person still believes that the College had spiritual significance and that God removed his presence from the property when the so called apostasy happened. So many Armstrongites look at the property still as a sacred place.
