Relatively few will pay much attention to (ME) the end time Elijah

Just how many Elijah's can the Church of God have in its midst?  Which one is the real one? How is one to know?  What about all of the other self-proclaimed "Elijah's" that have appeared in the church over the last 80 some years?  They are all dead, just like the biblical Elijah.

We have Ron Weinland, Dave Pack, Gerad Flurry, Alton Billingsley, Bob Thiel and many others who have set themselves up as the "Elijah" to the Church of God.  They all claim they have a warning message to the world and yet no one seems to care what they say.

Once again this week we had one of these men trying to "prove" he is Elijah by using COG UK's recently article on "Where is Elijah?"
Where Is Elijah?
If Jesus is to return any time soon, then ‘Elijah’, according to some teachers, should be alive and kicking somewhere on earth…
John the Baptist reflected the life-style of the first Elijah—rough-hewn, godly, dwelling in the desert. He had the same message, to confront ungodliness, ‘…to turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God’ (v.16)—a mission he surely accomplished Matthew 3:5-6). A people prepared for the message of Jesus.
But ‘Elijah’ will also return ’…before the coming of the great and dreadful day of Jehovah’ Malachi: 4:5). That day—the great ‘Day of the Lord’—is ushered in by the returning Jesus who said ‘…I will come again’. Elijah’s message will be a call to repentance, a return by mankind to the true God—a call heard worldwide. John, in Revelation, speaks of ‘…my two witnesses’ (ch 11:3ff), and their mission does indeed ‘prepare the way of the Lord’. They reflect both the work of both Elijah [eg drought] and Moses [eg plagues].
It will be an awesome time of tribulation upon those who continue unrepentant, unheeding of the call to turn to God. Their mission will end at the return of Jesus, when they will be glorified with Him, together with the rest of the ’firstfruits harvest’ (Revelation 11:3-12).
Because there can only be ONE true Elijah in the COG it can only by default be one SPECIFIC person. That person is none of than our favorite, Almost-arrested, Elisha, Elijah, Amos, Habakkuk, Joshua, Thiel; the self-appointed, doubly blessed, end time witless witness, world renown Mayan authority, self-appointed criticizer of Catholicism, author of numerous irrelevant books on Clinton, Trump, Fatima and end times malarkey, the bitter disappointing "son" of Rod Meredith and Chief Overseer of the improperly named "continuing" Church of God.  WHO KNEW!!!!!!!!!

Our favorite Bro, Elijah Thiel has this to say about himself:

Although people like the discredited Ron Weinland have claimed to be ‘Elijah,’ neither of them are.
Yet, the Bible does show that there will be an ‘Elijah’ who is alive before Jesus returns and that it is likely that he will be one of the two witnesses. And as Jesus is likely to return within the next couple of decades, it is reasonable to consider that he must be alive today.
The problem is that just as many would not hear Elijah’s or John the Baptist’s messages, relatively few will pay much attention to the end time Elijah as well.
Isn't it great to know that the deluded self-appointed false prophet is not only Elijah but that he is one of the two witless witnesses!  Glory Hallelujah!

Well if the best a deity can do is send losers who don't convince, whose fault is that?

How can he be Elijah, I'm Elijah.

Just kidding. If people really knew the shit that prophets undergo, they wouldn't be so quick to claim or imply that they are one.

The truth is that a real prophet or even Elijah would never have to convince anyone. Their God given powers would be self evident.

At least CCOG has a bigger ballpark than LCG...

Herbie warned the wrong generation, so he can't be Elijah.

Nobody listens to Pack so he is not warning anyone, so he can't be Elijah either.

The same would go for the rest of the would-be Elijahs. They have no fruits of Elijah so they are all false prophets.

Pack probably thought of being Elijah who "restored" all things from the start, which is probably why he called it the "Restored" church of [david pack].

Nah, Thiel is Fert-Elijah.

God seemed to think it was terribly important that Jonah deliver His message in an audible and credible way, and in a timely fashion, so that the Ninevites would be accountable. They were! And, it is written that they repented!

You wouldn't go into an auditorium, whisper that the place was about to be blown up by terrorists, and then sigh as the building and occupants blew up that nobody had listened to you. Camping was (surprise, surprise!) wrong. But, one thing we have to admit. He and his followers made sure that his message was both visible, and audible. In a way, it's a a good thing when false messengers like the Armstrongites can not do this. If they did, then the first time they got it wrong, like Camping, everyone would know that they did not speak for God. What we see today amongst the splinters is that they all preach an internal message! Only their own insiders hear, heed, and then experience supreme disappointment when the prophecies/warning turn out to be wrong.

If Armstrongism were God's way, this is something someone would need to fix in order to get a credible warning to "the world". But, the leaders would need to have accurate, inspired information to share in the first place. How do the members and even the leaders not see or understand this? I mean if you have to sit around and complain that nobody recognizes you as a prophet, it means that you've got a fundamental problem. You've swung your imaginary bat at what should have been "ball one", as you fantasize that you've just hit the ball out of the park! Again!
