Probably a Sure Word of Prophecy

After a long explanation as to why the August 21st total eclipse from the Carolinas to Oregon is not a sign of the end of the world and the foolishness of those who preach it should be evident, Dr Bob correctly concludes, save for his church only having the "sure word of prophecy"...

"While the end is coming, the solar eclipse of 2017, like the ‘blood moons’ of 2014 and 2015, is NOT a sign that Jesus gave in Matthew 24 nor as shown in the Book of Revelation. Mark Biltz once again is pointing to his interpretations and attempting to say they mean some particular message from God. Although the USA does need national repentance, God is not sending a total eclipse as a means to do that. God has allowed many eclipses and they of themselves are NOT listed in the BIBLE as being of prophetic importance.

A solar eclipse is not a sign of the beginning of the great tribulation (see the 6th chapter of Revelation). A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. Casting a shadow does not end the world.

(Posters Note: Neither does the blowing of wind, pounding of rain, fire, snow, heat or cold)

Why report about this? Because there are many false and heretical leaders that lead people astray on prophecy (2 Peter 2:1-2). Scoffers will not believe, but properly understood biblical prophecy will come to pass (2 Peter 3:1-12).

Sometimes false teachers mention the Bible to try to act like God sanctions their nonsense. And it is not just the secular fringe people, but also those who claim to be Christian or even claim to be in the Church of God.

Yet, those of us in the Continuing Church of God “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed” (2 Peter 1:19, KJV).  (Poster's Note: Bob means "I have")

Why?

Because we believe the Bible over signs that many point to.

You should too."
God trying to get Portland's attention but missed.

...Why can't he also conclude that volcanoes, weather and earthquakes are just volcanoes, weather and earthquakes without falling into the Bronze and Iron Age explanations of that which no one, at that time, understood and attributed to the gods, punishment and retribution?

and too...

"Is Bible Prophecy About Earthquakes Being Fulfilled?

"Is Bible prophecy being fulfilled?

Well there certainly have been great earthquakes in various (diverse, KJV) places.
The reality is that in the past 67 years there have been substantially more "great" earthquakes than the prior 67 years.

In the past year or so, there were substantially more major earthquakes than the prior year or so.

An increase in seismic activity is consistent with biblical prophecy.

Early Christians (and the more faithful of the modern ones) believed and taught that God gave humans 6000 years to live outside the Kingdom of God, followed by the Day of the Lord, and then the return of Jesus Christ, who would reign with His saints for a thousand years. According to various chronologies that I have viewed (see Does God Have a 6,000 Year Plan? What Year Does the 6,000 Years End?), the six thousand years is about up.

(Poster's Note:  Gotta love those "more faithful modern ones".  According to to various chronologies Bob, that I have viewed, modern humans have been on the planet for about 200,000 years and  there were plenty of cultures up and running that never noticed Noah's Flood. )

So, this suggests that the recent earthquakes probably are in fulfillment of Jesus' prophecies and that we are within only a few years of the start of the Great Tribulation and that Jesus may return by the end of the next decade (When Can the Great Tribulation Begin).

(Poster's Note:  Now there's a sure word of prophecy for you. Or probably one anyway.)

...The Bible teaches that God controls the weather (Psalm 147:17-18; 148:7-8"

Sadly and of course to quote Bob, the reason some weather and astronomical events don't qualify as "God trying to get our attention" is that they don't fit with his own mistaken notions about when he thinks Jesus is going to return.

Since, to Bob, this or that "can't happen" until this or that happens, he will continue in his delusional, superstitious, scientifically God-Haunted and fake ministry leading folk ultimately the proverbial path of "nothing to see here folks."

These days it is peer-reviewed scientists who can give us the most accurate timeline for the end. Bob Thiel and others should be reading materials on the Sixth Mass Extinction. Obviously something could happen to make the end come sooner, but planet Earth is already well into a discernable pattern or cycle that Armstrongites deny and preach against, simply because it does not fit the prophecy mold that their "Apostle" laid down.

Basically, Bob corrects and adjusts everything around him using Armstrongism. Clearly, there are far more accurate standards than a system that had its entire membership believing they would go to Petra in 1975.

And too..Bob knows an eclipse is predictable do has no prophetic value. The Jesuits conned Native Americans with the threat of blocking out the sun if they did not yield to them. They knew which days to threaten them. You can't threaten or impress with an earthquake

I also enjoy Bob's concept of God allowing many eclipses and not using them much if at all in his toolbox unto repentance. I didn't think they needed permission to occur.

Eclipses are mathematical and predictable. Nothing miraculous or supernatual about them. Earthquakes and volcanoes are tectonic and only slightly predictable. We know the San Andreas fault is going to let go one of these days. Nothing miraculous or supernatural about it. The subduction zone off our northwest coast will also let go and every day brings that disaster closer, but we don't know when. It could happen while I'm typing this or long after I'm dead and gone. These are natural forces. No hand of any god has anything to do with it. Somewhere out there is a asteroid or comet with a routing tag that says "earth." We have no idea where it is or when its inevitable path is going to intersect with earth's orbit. It's happened before and will inevitably happen again. We'd better not be caught praying for some god's imaginary hand to intervene. Altering it's course is going to be up to us and we'd better get cracking on being able to do so.

Spot on Allen. God's neither use weather nor try to get our attention with it. That's just childish ignorance

The displeased God just needs to man up , show up, speak up and shut up all the phoney self absorbed middlemen

"... we'd better get cracking ..."

Absolutely!

But what about fracking? Fracking has caused earthquakes.

There is another major North American eclipse coming in 2024 ....

This is SEVEN YEARS brethren! The two paths of the eclipses will form an X. The 2024 eclipse will go from the Southwest to the Northeast, and will cross path with the current eclipse at the following locations...

In Illinois, Carbondale is located in the northern quadrant of the zone and Marion is located in the eastern. In the southern quadrant there’s Paducah, Kentucky, and Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Farmington, Missouri, is located in the western quadrant. The Shawnee National Forest is completely enclosed within the zone of totality and both the Mississippi and Ohio rivers run through it.

Right snab dab in the middle of the country---- X marks the spot. X being the sign for Eternal Judgement!

Also the 2024 eclipse occurs on the 1st of Nissan ! Another Prophetic Marker!

The 2017 eclipse occurs on the first new moon after the historically significant "9th of Av" (on August 1st), a day that both of the Temples were destroyed on , and the inquisition of the Jews occurred in Spain in 1492.

HWA's birthdate is July 31st, and is just one day before the 9th of AV. This signifies that he came before the Great Tribulation!

IT IS ALL ADDING UP BRETHREN! SEND EVERYTHING, AND I MEAN EVERYTHING TO CONNIE SCHMIDT NOW FOR THE LAST END TIME PUSH!

Sell your cat, sell your kids, steal from liquor stores, steal copper wire, sell your body, sell your soul, sell blood, sell meth amphetamine or opioids, DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GIVE NOW! Nothing in this world matters anyway, and it will only be fixed with the Kingdom Of God, .... SO LET IT FLY!

PS- Please forward to Dave Pack, Ron Weinland, James Malm and Bob Thiel

Wait, maybe there is a reversed correlation!

First there were Earthquakes. Have been for centuries.

Now we have FRACKING!

Maybe, just maybe, it is the EARTHQUAKES that are causing the FRACKING!

No stone should be unturned in this investigation!

MY COMMENT - ROFLMAO over your whole post, but there is one obvious problem with your one comment above. And that is the brethren have already sent everything they have toward the various last end time pushes and final gunlaps. The various ACOG wolves and their families have it all and spent it on themselves since they and their families can't get real jobs in the real world. The brethren have little to nothing more to give. NOTHING, ZIPPO, NADDA, GONE, etc.

It appears with Bob that his own actions are predictable. His level of detail in future events is proportional to the time until envisaged fulfillment. That is, near-time events will be more generalized; things may “align” with them, or not; if the latter, they are simply ignored. So it is easier to dismiss the detailed near-term predictions of others. Actually Ron Dart made a “Dart’s Law” that the more detailed a “prophet” is, the less likely what he says will happen.

And if by chance some significant event does occur during the eclipse, Bob will likely ignore it, dismiss it, tie it to some other event, or say it aligns with one of his many speculations.

Reminds me of Douglas Fargo in Eureka, whose favorite euphemistic expletive was What the frack!

You are all mistaken. Just because quack splinter leaders keep bringing up the tribulation and the return of Christ, doesn't mean that they are wrong.
The tribulation is oh so real and not that far off. Probably within 20 years.
Answered pray has one than once confirmed the tribulation.

Even from the purely biblical viewpoint, it's mentioned many times. The body of evidence is there. That's assuming that you trust your eyes rather than Dennis's endless intellectualising away of the obvious.

Gotta watch that intelligent critical thinking and observations stuff for sure. It screws up theological meanderings and probablies every time

Dennis, your obvious problem is your human reasoning

You are just as bad as they are, 7:24.

Got me a little idea. Let's all start praying for the tribulation and let's see if God confirms it in our prayers even though we know the US and BC aren't Israel, the Germans can't be Assyrians, and Native Americans are not Canaanite. Does God confirm the HWAcaca for some people, or is that all confirmation bias based on the false prophecy they were brainwashed with?

Satan also use reason in the garden of Eden. Using 'human reasoning' doesn't mean one is right. Don't eat Dennis's apple folks.

That is an interesting premiss.

It takes me back to the times when the GBush government invited Hollywood professionals and scenarists in an effort to help Department of Homeland Security in understanding future scenarios.

And that was only a government serving its citizens. While I sit in with those making a buck out of making people believe they have by their own choice acquired the product of their preference.

Quite similar to that "praying" thing you referred at. Ah well "The pursuit of happiness" of the middle classes.
